The most common questions luxury vehicle owners ask before booking with Atelier 509 answered honestly, in plain language.
SERVICES FAQ'S
What's the difference between ceramic coating and paint protection film (PPF)?
Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to your paint, creating a hydrophobic, glossy layer that protects against UV damage, light scratches, and contaminants. PPF is a transparent, self-healing urethane film applied directly to the paint, designed to absorb impact from rock chips, scratches, and road debris. Most luxury vehicle owners benefit from both — PPF on high-impact areas (front bumper, hood, fenders) and ceramic coating on the rest.
How long does each service take?
- Paint Protection Film: 1–4 days
- Ceramic Coating: 1–2 days
- Paint Correction: 1–3 days
- Ceramic Window Tint: 3–6 hours
- Interior Detailing: 4–8 hours
- Exterior Detailing: 4–6 hours
What kinds of vehicles do you work on?
Atelier 509 works exclusively with luxury and performance vehicles — including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi, Tesla, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Rolls-Royce, and other premium marques. We do not work on entry-level vehicles. This focus allows us to deliver the standard our clientele expects.
Do I need to drop off my vehicle, or can I wait?
For longer services (PPF, ceramic coating, paint correction), we require drop-off — the work cannot be rushed and the environment must be controlled. For shorter services (window tint, exterior detail), waiting may be possible by arrangement, though we generally recommend drop-off for the cleanest results.

BOOKING & PRICING FAQ's
How much does protection or detailing cost?
Pricing varies significantly based on vehicle size, paint condition, and the services selected. Paint correction starts at a few hundred dollars; full PPF installations can exceed $5,000 on larger vehicles. The most accurate way to receive pricing is to request a free quote — we’ll provide a tailored estimate within 24 hours.
How do I book an appointment?
You can book directly through our online form, by calling the studio at (514) 237-8094, or by emailing contact@atelier509.com. After your initial inquiry, we’ll confirm your service, finalize timing, and prepare your vehicle’s intake details.
Do you require a deposit?
For most services, a deposit is required to confirm your booking — this secures your time slot and covers material orders for vehicle-specific protection (e.g., pre-cut PPF kits). Deposits are confirmed at the time of booking and are credited toward your final invoice.
Do you offer warranties on your work?
Yes. Every protection installation is backed by manufacturer warranty — up to 10 years on premium ceramic coatings and PPF, depending on the product selected. Atelier 509 also stands behind every installation with our own workmanship guarantee. Full warranty terms are provided at the time of service.
What happens if I'm not satisfied with the work?
Client satisfaction is non-negotiable. If anything about the finish doesn’t meet the standard you expected — whether it’s an installation detail, a missed area, or any other concern — we’ll address it immediately at no charge. The Atelier 509 standard isn’t met until you’re confident in the work.
